HealthyW8 partners gathered in Rome for the 3rd Annual Meeting to review progress, share insights, and advance collaboration on obesity prevention and healthy lifestyles across Europe.
From 24 to 26 March 2026, partners of the HealthyW8 project gathered in Rome, Italy for the 3rd Annual Meeting, hosted at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR). Over three days, consortium members came together to review progress, align strategies, and advance joint efforts toward obesity prevention and healthier lifestyles across Europe.
A strong start: aligning vision and progress
The meeting officially opened with welcome speeches from Dr. Mario Paolucci and Dr. Arianna D’Ulizia (CNR), followed by an introduction from project coordinator Prof. Torsten Bohn (Luxembourg Institute of Health). This opening session set the tone for a productive exchange of ideas and reinforced the project’s shared mission.
The first day focused on key scientific discussions, including the presentation of results from pilot trials and their implications for future work, as well as progress on long-term intervention studies. These sessions provided valuable insights and sparked engaging discussions among partners.
Advancing tools, data, and impact
The second day was dedicated to deepening the project’s technical and strategic work. Partners explored digital tools and features supporting long-term interventions, as well as the design of campaigns tailored to different target groups.
Discussions also addressed data integration and analysis, highlighting the importance of combining diverse data sources to better understand obesity trends across Europe. In parallel, sessions on dissemination, communication, and exploitation strategies focused on maximising the project’s impact and ensuring that results reach key audiences.
Strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange
Throughout the meeting, participants engaged in interactive discussions, addressing challenges, sharing best practices, and identifying next steps. Feedback from the Stakeholders Advisory Board provided additional guidance and valuable external perspectives.
The meeting also offered opportunities to strengthen collaboration among partners and foster a shared vision for the project’s future developments.
Looking ahead
The 3rd Annual Meeting marked an important milestone for HealthyW8, reinforcing collaboration across the consortium and setting clear priorities for the next phase of the project.
